All the "Roofi" jokes, and the "War of the Worlds" reference, were just some of the things that made that a great episode. For some reason, I thought tonight's episode ("I, D'Oh!-bot") was lacking something. It wasn't terrible, but it could have been much better. I expected Homer fighting robots to have funnier slapstick, like in "The Fat and the Furriest". Although that just reminded me:

Although to be fair, it wasn't intentional this time around, as Bart had to open the door first.
While it probably wasn't an intentional reference, Lisa's cats dying suddenly and repeatedly reminded my of the Family Guy episode "To Live and Die in Dixie". Sorry, I'm too lazy to look up its production code like some of you nerds. :-p In that episode, a raccoon repeatedly (and that's an understatement) attacks Peter in the face. It's quite funny the first couple of times, and then it gets old, and then for some unexplainable reason it becomes even funnier as they continue to beat that dead horse. In my opinion, tonight's cat killing only got to the "no longer funny" stage. Perhaps it would have been funnier had a cat keeled over and died in the "You people are now banned from the the animal shelter" scene, as well as the crazy cat lady scene, and a few other places you didn't expect. But then again, Simpsons isn't Family Guy, so maybe that's not such a great idea.
The whole "we'll call it Snowball II; everything is back to normal" bit reminded me a bit too much (and not in a good way) of "The Principal and the Pauper", not to mention the obvious "Principal Tanzarian" line.
While I refuse to stoop to the "Worst Episode Ever" line, I think this is Season 15's worst showing to date. Not out and out bad, just quite mediocre. And yes, I liked the Halloween Special and "Marge vs ..." quite well, thank you very much. I don't think I need to reiterate that "Fat and the Furriest" or "Regina Monologues" were great.
