Tonight's episode, while likely doomed to go down in the history books as one of the more forgettable efforts, was pretty enjoyable. Bart and Lisa plots have set a high standard for themselves, and while GABF05 failed to meet it, it still provided some great interaction between the two siblings. However, characterization was a problem. While Lisa's need to be away from Bart was well developed in Act I, in Act II, she comes off as a jerk. The pole montage was pretty funny, but by the end of the act, any sympathy that I had for her at the beginning was completely gone, and replaced with some for Bart. The ending failed at being emotional, and at being funny, even though it was clearly attempting both. And Homer's plot, with the exception of the sign gags, was just dead weight. Still, this episode pulled off some pretty funny gags (Gary Busey's guest spot, Bart as a dog and then chasing SII at the end, the Krabappel/Skinner interaction and the flashback) and overall I liked it. I guess rookie writer Jeff Westbrook's first effort for OFF gets an 8.5/10. (B)

(Cut to Gary Busey, tossing off his helmet.) Busey: Hi, I'm Gary Busey. Muhahahahaha! (Cut to Homer laughing maniacally as he drives a cart out of the Sprawl*Mart at night.
