Why are Rod and Tod geeks?

I think it can be attributed to their upbringing.

They must be the only kids in Springfield to tremble with fear when they view Itchy & Scratchy.

Even in the suburbs those two wouldn't last a week in public school. I'm still trying to figure out why they don't come home every day with their tidy whities pulled up around their eyebrows. Maybe it has something to do with series continuity.

Anyway, I give them geek points for the following: Matching names - 1 point (2 if Tod is really spelled with just one D) Parents active in the community - 1 point Utter innocence - 1 point Jesus freakiness - 2 points

However, they're missing some of the classic geek traits, such as: Glasses Brains Predilection for cartoons, comic books, and science fiction

So maybe what they really are is dorks.

They're both with one "D" because it's very close to the same spelling of and also rhymes with "God". Maude also rhymes with "God" (depending on how you pronounce). But this was all entirely intentional on the writers' part...
