Question: Band in "trailer" of episode where bikers take Marge

I'm sure that some hard-core Simpsons fans might find this a trivial question, but in the episode where the "Hell's Satans" motorcycle gang kidnaps Marge, the "trailer" features a band doing an alternate version of the Simpsons theme.

Who was that band? (I think it's a band I should know, but it didn't click, and I couldn't catch any mention in the credits.)

I believe the band is NRBQ. I personally had never heard of them, but lots of people here seemed to know who they were. Are maybe I was just like you...I knew them but didn't know them.

BTW, they're not only at the end of the episode - when Homer goes to that jerkwater bar to ask where he can find the Hell's Satans, an animated version of NRBQ is playing there.

Over the last couple of years, the band's music can be heard as part of vignettes or in the background - they were the ones doing "I Like That Girl" and "Twelve Bar Blues".

Also, in the biker episode, you can hear NRBQ's song "Me and the Boys" when the
bikers are living in the Simpsons house.   In the one where Homer is
babyproofing the town you can hear them sing "Always Safety First" from their
childrens' album, "You're Nice People, You Are."   In this season's "Hunka
Hunka Burns In Love",  NRBQ's "If I Don't Have You", plays over a montage of
Burns and his young girlfriend.

NRBQ's music has been used on "The Simpsons" more often than any other band.  A
documentary on them will air later this year featuring Keith Richards, Bonnie
Raitt, Elvis Costello, REM, HARRY SHEARER,  Drew Carey, HANK AZARIA and
Simpsons clips.  They also have a website nrbq.com.   A great intro to the band
is the Rhino compilation "Peek-A-Boo:  The Best of NRBQ 1969-89."   The band is
still together and on the road all the time.   Also have released four albums
since the Rhino set.
