The XFL was a football league created by WWF owner Vince McMahon in 2001. With the season taking place after the NFL season, the XFL was to be a more extreme version of football. However, despite a TV deal with NBC and Jesse "The Body" Ventura doing commentary, the XFL was a major bomb and it folded after just one season.
