Need a free or cheap NG and or E-mail provider

Can anyone provide me with the name and/or web site of a free or cheap NG and or E-mail provider. O.K., so I don't have as much money as you. So what?

Yahoo also has groups & free email. The good thing about their group service is it acts a listserver. The bad thing is, if you browse the group by the web, you are subjected to intrusive ads (the kind that insert themselves when you click on a link)...
