Hence EABF04 (February 2 2003) was the real 300th episode by BOTH production AND network broadcast order. That makes EABF05 ("Barting Over"), which Fox is advertising as the 300th, the 301st produced and the 302nd aired.

If somebody already pointed this out, sorry.

would you really want to advertise a show about marge taking steroids as your 300th show? that explains why a bart episode with guest stars gets that honor.

I think I remember Lisa looking at her counter and saying it was the 300th episode, but Marge says it feels like 302.

you kno you have to consider the drawing board stage of this whole thing.... the thing is pre-production probably started YEARS ago for this, dependind on contract history. no one ever claimed that this was the 300th episode AIRED or 300th episode PRODUCED or 300th episode SCRATCHED ON THE SIDE OF A ROCK IN THE AMRENIAN CAVES OF GEGHARD !!!!!! its simply the 300th episode... but thanks for the completely unneccessary analysis of the situation
