Simpsons repeats

I live in the California South Bay Area and simpsons is shown 6, 11, and 11:30 on UPN..... I notice that they cut out a lot of scenes, does this happen to all of the repeated shows? Or is it only certain networks? An example: The other night they played the one where it is Springfields BICentennial, and they are honoring Jeb. Spring., Lisa discovers he was a pirate before he founded the city. Anyways, I noticed that when she blows the fife, and the note shoots out, at the end, before commercial shes supposed to read something about his crippling diptheria and she freaks out and starts spitting and stuff. The part where she reads that was cut out. Is this always happening ?? Sorry if this is totally boring but you all watch this often too so I know I am not the only one that caught that.

You've stumbled on to the greatest travesty in the Simpsons universe. Sadly, most Simpsons episodes are brutally butchered at something resembling Bovine University. They come out shorter, and less coherent. The horror is explained here, and there's a guide to every cut made through Season 11:
