the scene that shows perfect cooperation among the animators, writers, voices, and directors is the "stop lookin' at that squirrel" scene. when homer has to drive a truck cross country and he finds out about the truckers' auto-drive-amabob, they instruct him not to tell anyone about it. but in the middle of their speech, homer bursts out laughing. the trucker says, "stop looking at that squirrel and pay attention." the camera moves to where the squirrel is sitting on the curb eating a nut. then the trucker continues. this is one of the funniest scenes ever, and the most simple. yet it shows perfect cooperation: the writers came up with it, the director explained how it should play out, the animators drew it, and homer did the perfect laugh for that situation.
plus, it's just really funny that homer would be distracted and laugh mindlessly just because a squirrel is sitting and eating a nut.
