Of course I'm serious. I am going to be a English major next year in college, and so this little shit really pisses me off. Most people are taught the correct way to pronounce and spell "nuclear" in elementary school, so it is totally unacceptable for grown adults to fall into these puerile traps. Our language is far too beautiful to mess up.

Its kinda funny. A study was done where a bunch of non-english speaking foreigners had to listen to someone say a bunch of english words and then decide which one was the most beautiful...most of them chose diarrhea...

If only the subject of diarrhea were as pleasant... :-)

This is very interesting, but not surprising. I presume that a large portion of the participants of the survey were Asians who have tonal languages as their mother tongue. The word "diarrhea" contains three diphthongs, and so it would more closely resemble words of the native languages which are naturally more beautiful to the participants.
