I haven't been on this group much recently, but has this episode aired in syndication recently in anyone's market, being that Homer spends the day in the plaza of the Twin Towers? Just wondering would 20th Century would pull the eps. in case of sensitivity towards victims' and/or families.
I seem to remember Columbia-TriStar doing this with the JFK Jr. of Seinfeld ep. right after his death.
I saw that episode on the Burlington, Vermont ABC station a few weeks ago. i think it is up to the individual networks to decide to show or not show it because The Comedy Network in Canada which shows all the episodes in order is almost done with Season 8 so I expected tv guide to say that they would show that episode on Sunday March 17, but the TV Guide is listing "The Principal and the Pauper" for that day. That means we won't get to see "The City of NY vs. Homer Simpson" on The Comedy Network.
Personaly, I think The Comedy Network should broadcast that episode, but we know that it's a network that is not run by the smartest of people so I didn't expect anything better from them.
Why should it be banned? You could see it as a sort of "tribute" to NY actually. And besides, they didnt edit "thats armageddon" out of the Kentucky Fried Movie DVDs, and that could be more offensive than the simpsons ep.
I love Vermont, but Jim Jeffords sucks.

Why would they, considering the car racing episode where Maude Flanders dies was aired in Los Angeles two days after Dale Earnhardt was killed.
