If the Simpson's is on its 16th series, then how come here in the UK the DVDs have only got as far as series 3, whats wrong with those guys? don't they want to make more money???

actually by making it a year or so between DVD releases they are making more money. anticipation builds up between dvds and more poeple buy them, atleast thats what they hope.
At this rate, there will be a new viewing media by the time they release the last season.

You mean I'll have to re-buy everything I own on DVD, which replaced everything I owned on LD (yes, I was big on LD) which replaced everything I got on VHS?

Nah, the next gen HD format will be backward-compatible with DVDs, so you shouldn't have to worry. The next format won't really produce significantly higher quality than existing DVDs (for Simpsons, anyway) so it's doubtful that buying in the new format would be noticeably better.

Well in HMV the other day I noticed that the DVD series are reduced from �39.99 to �19.99 - if only I hadn't run out at xmas and paid full price for them - DOH!!
Nowadays with DVDs I'm just waiting for the price to come down before I buy, or even buying vids instead (see my other post) I mean Lord of the Rings is now �3.99 on video!!!

The inference being that the clarity of the recording sound was so good it fooled the dog into thinking it was his master (owner) speaking live.
