Though I'm sure some will disagree, I'd have to rate this ep in the top twenty Simpsons episodes of all time. It was laugh-out-loud funny at least a half-dozen times, and it had a good story, enough drama, and was touching without being sappy.

Funny-but-touching is a hard balance to get right - for example, judging by SNPP site, some people think And Maggie Makes Three failed on that count. It's kind of a sappy flashback ep in many people's minds, but personally I found many funny moments in it, and a clever and touching ending really sealed it as a great ep of its type for me. The Way We Weren't came close to that, it's one of my favourites this season.

I don't know about A+, but episodes with a lot of popular culture references, especially old ones from the 60s, and little references to old episodes like Moe on the phone, Cookie Kwan reading the book, get a high rating from me, too.

Well, maybe not top twenty, but definately up there with the best of them.
