In Season 1 or 2, Burns says he is 81. Then later on, I remember him saying he was 104. Anyone know his age?

One is his age in metric
Hex (base16) would make for a smaller number, e.g., 32 [base16] = 50 [base10].
Octal would make the number bigger.

The discrepency in Burn's age is due to different writers. Simple as that:)

I'd actually say that it's more "because it's funny" than anything else. It's part of Burns's character... he's made references to things that he'd have to be over 130 years old to have lived through, for example. Why? Because it was funny. =)

I would say that since he was only said to be 81 once or twice, and he's been referred to as 104 consistently since Who Shot Mr. Burns, we can assume he's 104.
Just playing with the nos., per a previous post, 81 isn't a valid octal number, 81 (base16) = 129 (decimal).
104 (base8) = 68 (decimal) = 44 (hex)

Funny you should ask... Notice how none of the kids in Springfield age? For that matter, the adults don't age visibly. That is because Mr. Burns absorbs their ages, making him age at an accelerated rate. However, it's not like you think - he doesn't get older so that you'd notice. His birthdate gets pushed back!
