There seemed to be a lot of references to past episodes in this one. More to the point, it seems there were many references to episodes from WAY back, like the first few seasons. Wasn't that the big screen TV Grandpa Simpson bought the retirement center back in "Old Money"? Wasn't that the "Off Ramp Inn" the Simpson's tried to stay at, seen way back in "Some Enchanted Evening" in season 1? Along with the crank call to Moe, the writers seem to be hitting the Simpson's history book lately. Can't say that I'm not a little nostalgic. Would love to see an episode where the writers try to cram in as many past episode references they possibly could. Maybe an episode about memory, or possibly a "Memento" parody. Would be interesting, if nothing else.
