Comedy Block for Adults Starting in Jan. 2003

Cartoon Network have entered into an agreement for the exclusive cable rights of the hit animated series FUTURAMA to begin airing in January 2003. The announcement was jointly made by Bob Cook, President & Chief Operating Officer, Twentieth Television and Jim Samples, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Cartoon Network.

aimed at adults 18-34. Cartoon Network has acquired rights to air all 72 episodes of FUTURAMA, which was recently named one of five 2002 Emmy Award nominees for O utstanding Animated Program (less than one hour).

I wonder if they'll be making cuts - and since I don't really watch Cartoon Network much, I also wonder about their credits policy, esp. since many of the credits were never seen in the States.

As for credits, AS (and CN in general) airs the whole credits, even the complete opening and ending themes. And no split screen to fit in more ads either. In fact, there are only 2 ad spots per half-hour show: a ~2-3 min spot midway and a ~3 min spot between shows, so no constant commercial interruptions.

Wow - in that case, maybe they should try to get the Simpsons reruns to cartoon network - from the way you describe Adult Swim, it sounds like there would be no syndication cuts and we'd actually be able to hear the alternate credit themes...
