I think we all know that the best eps were not in the first season or this or the last couple of seasons. But which was worse. Hmmm. I'll have to say last couple, when I was younger, the early ones provided me with pleasure. The newer ones are just low brow. Perfection was with David Mirken

I think Mirkin's first season (1993-94) was excellent, and one of the most consistent periods of the show. His second season slipped a bit, though -- still some great episodes, but not with the same consistency. I'd say that Mirkin's first season, along with the last official Al Jean/Mike Reiss season (1992-93) are the best years of the show.
