Alcohol problems: Homer vs. The Eighteenth Amendment

I was just reading through the capsule for Homer vs. The Eighteenth Amendment when I noticed that there is no mention of the errors in the scenes of Homer's distillery. Here's some that I saw:

First of all, the setup of the stills in the basement is completely non-sensical. It's too crazy to even bother trying to explain here.

The Cognac, Scotch and Rye all had color. These spirits are all colorless prior to the aging process.

Beer is NOT a product of distillation, yet Homer had his beer "hooked up" to a still. (yes I know that Whiskey is made from a fermented mash that closely resembles beer; but it's not the same thing)

I didn't notice any condensers in the basement that could have even come CLOSE to being up to the job.

The boilers had no obvious heat source: they appeared to be set up on some sort of small table.

There were no reflux columns for the Gin. (or vodka, rum.. etc..)

The stills exploded while not being operated (Homer was in bed) this is impossible.

When Homer was hauling ingredients for the liquor he had a jar of Tequila Worms. Worms are not an ingredient for Tequila; rather they are added during the bottling process, which Homer did not do. (he filled bowling balls)

Homer hauled a bag labeled "sour mash". Sour mash is NOT a grain but rather a LIQUID byproduct of a previous distillation that is saved and in turn added to the fermented mash of the next batch.

What about Lisa's perpetual motion machine? Or half of the stuff that Frink messes around with? They are non-sensical, too.

Didn't you see the "Little Bastard Aging Kit for Spirits"? It was right there, on the washing machine!

Now we know why Homer likes beer so much. He drinks distilled beer! HOORAY FOR BEER!

With solid state ignitions nobody needs condensers anymore.

Nuclear power. Homer had placed little green, fluorescent, radioactive cylinders in them.

When you take Zantac, you don't have a problem with reflux.

According to "Transport Phenomena", by Bird, Stewart, and Lightfoot, the Rock of Gibraltar of Chemical Engineering textbooks, "reflux columns are not necessary when you are making a cartoon".

With nuclear power, anything is possible.

What about Fred Flintstone's car? That was non-sensical, too. It had no floor! And he used his feet for horsepower.

What would you expect from a clown distillery anyway?
