Glad it wasn't won by Channel 5 and hopefully 4 will give better scheduling than the BBC. Only downer is having to put up with adverts halfway through :(

With Digital Satellite TV in the UK you can get at least 100. (And thats what I have) Of which I would say around 5-10 have programmes I want to see. And there's the key difference: the basic cable package that most Canadians have gives them the 30 odd channels... paying a few bucks more yields the 70. If you get satelite, then you're talking hundreds...
The nice advantage of living in most populated parts of Canada is that we're close to the US border, so we get both Canadian and American channels (which increases the number of broadcasts of the Simpsons that we get every night).
