Did Burns steal Grampa's gun?

It seems to me like Mr. Burns might have been the one who dug up the lawn and found the gun, because when you think about it, Mr. Burns had the same type of gun Grampa had, Homer was accused of using Grampa's gun, the lawn was dug up and the box was emptied which definately means it wasn't the dog, it seems to me like Mr. Burns' "protection" was Grampa's old gun.

Burns has his own gun. I think it's reasonable to conclude Burns bought it on his own. He is a multi-millionaire, you know...
