I don't mind the large amount of guest stars on the show, but it bothers me how everytime a guest star comes on the show the characters always say the same kind of dialouge......
for example,
Random Simpsons Character: "Look it's <Guest Star's name>!"
Another Random Character: "<description of Guest Star's occupation or importance>"
Anyone else notice this?

Surely The Moody Blues appearance should be another exception. That was funny because of the way they parodied themselves.

Mike Reiss spoke at our school back in April and he mentioned that they'll be bringing the Scorpio character back in a later episode.
Yeah, it reminds me of when Scooby-Doo used to have all those celebrity guest stars on his show. They handled it the same way. Maybe the Simpsons are just doing a parody of this, but I dunno.

Yeah, the guest stars seem kinda tacked on.
Speaking of bad running gags, the Simpsons seems to be using them alot lately. They tend to beat some issues into the ground. Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but I think they sometimes wear a joke somewhat thin.

Several years ago when I first posted here, I made an innocent comment in a "Best/Worst" episode thread that I thought that "Lisa's Substitute" was the best episode ever, and that "Cape Feare" was the worst (and to me, a sign of the downfall to come).
That started a major war, since unbeknownst to me, prior to my first post, "Cape Feare" had been voted everyone's favorite.
Similarly, while I still think "CF" is pretty lousy, it is miles ahead of anything put out in the past four years.

What I liked about the 2 new episodes season finale was that they had no guest stars! That was good for a change!

George Bush didn't actually voice this character, sadly, but it was still an excellent episode.
This was a great, but weird episode. The ending sort of loses its charm after the sixth viewing, though.
Personally, I thought Mark Hamill's character was totally out of place. It seemed like a really odd place for a Jedi/Star Wards reference.
It's Ford, and it was a hilarious appearance. I have no idea if he actually voiced himself, though.
A *lot* of guest appearances are just kinda tossed in and aren't worked into the story well.

Heh. Yup. Sometimes they'll combine it: "Look! It's long-time pop star Madonna!" How natural! Interesting that they feel they must do this even though they apparently have a rule that someone must be very famous to be on the show.
