Was Crazy Old Man saying this in German, or in Yiddish? I heard "gesund" at the end, which would be fine for German, but I didn't tape the episode and so I didn't catch what came before gesund... which could, of course, change the sentence entirely.

i rewound that quite a few times and i did hear "ich bin ____ gesund," but the closest thing i can fill in the blank with (as it sounded to me) is "krank," which makes no sense. "i am sick healthy." what the hell is that supposed to mean? or is there an idiom i'm missing? any other ideas out there?
well, i listened to it a couple more times and i think it's what i like to call Deunglish - something the Simpsons have used in the past (mix of german and english) as we all know. it's not quite english, and it's not quite german, but mahahahan. so to answer your question i don't know.
How about "wunsche" or "dich"? Did you hear anything like that? Better yet... maybe there's a sound file out there or Kristian Ronge can catch it...
hmm, perhaps. i'll listen to it yet again. i can't capture sound files though. correct me if i'm wrong but "i wish you good health" would be "ich wunsche dir Gesundheit" (which BTW many americans say in short form as "Gesundheit" without ever knowing what they're saying).

Better ask Chris Pfeiler. But "I wish you good health!" in German is "Ich w�nsche dir Gesundheit!", anyway. So maybe it was Mock-up-German.
