Review of CABF16 "Children of a Lesser Clod"

It's hard to write a review of an episode like this, because it's just so mind-numbingly mediocre. It wasn't the worst episode ever, but it certainly wasn't the best, either. There were a few chuckle-worthy jokes, but they were more than outweighed by jokes that fell flat, or ones that just plain sucked. The Bill Cosby part was pretty funny, but at the same time it's been done before -- better. I said it last week, and I'll say it again: Meh. (C)

I did like the "Christian Rock Concert" (Cris Rock in Concert), though.

I'm just happy to see episodes that are reasonably linear again. For most of this season, the episodes haven't had any real focus. They've just jumped around from sub-plot to sub-plot, looking for a gag and never getting one. Then, to make matters worse, they've been blatantly pointing out the schizophrenia within those episodes (I forget which character it was, but someone at the end of a recent episode said, "That plot made no sense!") That writing approach was really getting on my nerves, so I'm glad that this ep (and last week's) followed one nice, neat storyline from beginning to end.
