After weeks of watching the Simpsons give sponge baths to hobos and sing and dance, I finally saw a good rerun yesterday! It was the "Barney gets sober" episode. It was an enormous improvement over other recent fare.
In one scene from the episode, Lisa and Bart are rummaging around in the closet, looking for a camera. Lisa picks up the Emmy award that Abe "won" years ago, makes a disparaging sound, and irreverently drops it on the floor. The "Mr. Sparkle" box and Homer's astronaut helmet are also seen.
What kind of a town puts a picture of Mr. Burns on their phone book one year, and the next year puts a picture of two little kids being toilet trained on the cover of their phone book? I know, I know, a town founded by circus freaks.
When Moe showed the video of the mailperson delivering the mail, there was an opportunity to see Moe's address and maybe even the state that Springfield is in! But I didn't have my VCR running, so I lost a good FF opportunity.
