Simpsons DVD

Anybody been as happy as I am with season one and two DVD sets? Any true Simpson fan should covet these as I do, they are truly excellent and hopefully season three will be out soon. It is too bad that I will be 40 (I'm 21 now) when all the seasons come out...

It's really nitpicky to bring up, but since you asked...

My only complaint is there is no "play all" option on each of the DVD's in the set. Kind of annoying that you have to navigate through 3 menus to get from the episode you just watched to the next episode. I can't imagine it would have been a difficult thing to add.

My only nitpicks are that there aren't any deleted scenes or original network promos. Otherwise they are great sets, and I watch them probably more then my tapes sometimes.

I found the director's commentary hard to watch.... With movies, you can kind of read the actors lips while you listen to the directors - so you still know what's going on in the movie.... But with the simpsons, I found myself listening for the show more than the directors..... The background sound from the show was too loud and distracting......

I would have liked to see more behind the scenes stuff with the cast too.....

Otherwise, very good - and worth having.

I thought all us true Simpsons fans didn't really have to hear what they were saying since since we knew each part of each episode by heart. The reverse is also true (only hearing but now seeing)....I taped the audio from some episodes to cassette tapes for a long trip I had to go on, I watched the episodes in my head the whole trip as I listened...it was great. Yes, yes..I know, I need a life, I'm workin' on it.

Really? I found that the show itself was played too quietly, and the commentary was FAR louder than the episode (the case for both season 1 and 2). That meant I had to put the subtitles so that I could read the transcript of the episode whilst listening to the commentary.

Anybody else have this problem?

Personally I'm not anxiously awaiting any set beyond Season 9 or thereabouts. And some of the best eps were in the first five or six seasons.

Love both sets but like the other poster said it needs the Play All function
