In Season Eight [4F08] The Twisted World of Marge Simpson, what is that brassy, jazzy action music playing in the back ground during the montage where Fat Tony and his thugs are shown taking out Marge's competition while she's driving around making money? Is it lifted from somewhere else or is this one of Clausen's composition's?

Yes, surprisingly enough it has been asked several times before.
It's the theme song to 'The Sopranos', and that entire montage was actually a parody of the opening sequence to 'The Sopranos' as well.
That was probably the funniest part of the entire episode, at least for those who got the joke.

No...I don't think that's the right episode. I think you might be thinking of Poppa's Got A Brand New Badge [DABF17] from season thirteen (ends with Maggies shooting Fat Tony's "New Jersey Associates). The episode I'm thinking of is definitely the Marge starts a pretzel franchise episode.

That part is correct. The music is part of the sound track to NFL films various, ... uh, ... films. If you watch ESPN Classic and watch the old NFL highlight films from the 60s and 70s that are sometimes shown there you will hear this music. And other catchy tunes as well, along with some yelling and cheering.
When I watch these films, I understand everything. Except the football stadium reference. XINO, you know you have arrived when you find us making fun of you all over the place.
