Does Mr. Burns say "A Hoi hoi" or just "Hoi hoi" when answering the phone? Is this just a unique Mr. burns thing or is it a certain greeting from some specific language? Any know he history of this very funny phone greeting?

Taxes, integrated or not, serve a very useful purpose in making America the gold-paved land that it is. A "tax break" is absurd because it's limiting the circulation of money from the civil world and letting it roam more freely in the economic world. And when there's excess money in the economy, people keep it to themselves instead of spending, and thus a recession starts.
It's really not that interesting where I come from. 77% of New York voted Gore, and my view of Bush is pretty much the accepted view of him among the people that I know (although a majority of my friends from high school who have been assimilated into the rat race did vote for Dubya). New York is an extremely liberal territory, and frankly, a territory that supports independency. Thus, the conservative guy whose campaign was won on his father's accord doesn't sit well with us. And the reason why "more" people voted for Bush? Conservatives tend to have more kids, as opposed to liberals, for the "indepency" reason listed above.
Dammit, I'm on a political rant. :-/

Well... that's one theory. Most people I know are excited to pay bills and what not with the extra $$. And, of course, it's money we put there. It's not like we're killing people, or letting people die and getting paid for it. That, IMO, is "blood money". If you really want to feel good about the $ why not give it away? Cancer research, or something. That would "un-blood" the money. You don't think it will work, so why not spend the money?

This is what the media would have everyone think. They blackballed Bush in a blaze of sour grapes before he ever got in office. The shot was "let's see. What about Bush can we criticize? How can we portray him negatively so he hasn't got a shot in 4 more years?" You may laugh because from your perspective, he's a dimwit crackhead. Well, that's how he's portrayed in the media--Saturday Night Live went about playing that up from the beginning, for example.
Now, I know he's not a perfect president... but this is one of the many reasons I refuse to listen to or watch the media. I refuse to be influenced by editorializing reporters and spin doctors who insist they're reporting "just the facts". It's a wonder I have a TV set. The Simpsons is the only reason I turn on TV every week. Literally. It's much more difficult for me to come to the conclusion, therefore, that Bush is a bad human being... and it's silly for me to imagine that a tax break is somehow damaging. Without getting into a whole GOVT vs the PEOPLE rant here, let me just say I prefer a government that serves the people--not something the other way around. Certainly if we all gave up our possessions to the government, and let it redistribute to all citizens... we'd have a fairly oppressive Socialist society. Capitalism will work if those who *have* voluntarily help those who *have not*. IMO it isn't, nor has it ever been, the responsibility of the Government to make sure everyone is treated fairly. That's an illusion.
And don't tell me that conservatives have the most money. I'm a mailman, and the richest neighborhoods in the area are those populated by Sierra Club-types. Inherited money, for some reason, tends to foster liberalism. The pattern I see is: conservative parents work their way from nothing and make a fortune, leaving it to their kids who become liberal. Inheritances are a mistake, anyway. Liberals don't tend to be business types; so, the affluent ones almost always come from inherited money. Of course, many union households are liberal as well.
Well, despite my "damn weiner kids" quote... I have no kids. I'll listen to reason, but I won't listen to news media. I have to constantly question myself, to say nothing of the media, to see if what I believe is really the truth. It doesn't make sense to entrench myself on the left or the right, hold on for dear life, and start lobbing grenades at the other side.
I may have been, too. As long as it's not self-righteous, I see nothing wrong with it.
