"According to The New York Post, Homer is going to undergo a colonoscopy this season. Actually, it's not going to be part of the long-running FOX show, it's going to be part of the multi-network cancer benefit on September 5 titled Stand Up To Cancer. "

Wow - "Stand Up To Cancer" - now that takes guts, standing up to the pro-cancer sentiment in this country! Almost as much guts as the Dixie Chicks have.

Remember people - to prevent infection, have the crayon that's poking your brain periodically disinfected.

Homer Simpson, who drinks like a fish and eats like a pig, or some kind of farm animal, anyway, has no business being used as an example for preventive medicine. If they had some kind of "Mickey Mantle Stop Drinking to Prevent Liver Cancer Day", I suppose Homer would have to be part of it. And Moe would try to sabotage it.

Yet on the kidney failure support newsgroups (which I frequent because I'm on dialysis waiting for a new kidney) the episode where Homer keeps running away from the operating table rather than donating one of his to Grandpa is often mentioned.

And I've checked, the theatre where all our state's transplants are done does NOT have a window, so I'm in with a chance...

Normally I would make the usual Dr. Nick Riviera jokes here, like I did before my two recent minor surgeries. But you are in need of a kidney and that is serious business and I hope everything turns out OK. I am also suffering from Dupuytren's Contracture, and might soon need hand surgery for that, but that is also a cakewalk compared to your health issues. Good luck.

BTW, I am bench pressing more weight now than I was before my hernia surgery four years ago. And I am doing a lot of cycling and swimming, so my knee surgery turned out OK, too. That proves that they were minor operations.

Again, good luck.

Wow, that rolls off the tounge nicely, great pick-up line at parties... Incidentally, one of our small country hospital's doctors has the first name 'Nicholas', so I guess you know what he gets greeted with every time he comes into our ward!

Why thank you. Despite what Xino says, you are an officer and a gentleman.

So does "dorkus malorkus". (See reference to Xino Kiner, below).

Xino and I used to tease each other in order to be in character in this dry humor sarcasm filled ng. Now I tease him just to keep the ng alive.
