REVIEW: B-Plus - a little better than "meh", although we pseudo-Anglophiles out there could get a little carried away with the nitpicking, but the ending just stopped cold as if they ran out of things to say.

GOOFS / FREEZE FRAME / WHATNOT There haven't been any $1000 bills minted in over 30 years, yet the bill that came out of the ATM was new.

The candy clerk at Harrod's says that British candy is sweeter than American candy; it depends on what you're eating - the British equivalent of M&Ms uses dark chocolate, so it isn't as sweet.

The Changing of the Guard takes place in the morning, but Homer hit the Queen's coach in the evening.

Lisa said "Queen of England"; she should know better - she's Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The Queen's bags would not say HRH, as she has not been "Her Royal Highness" since she became Queen; they would most likely say "ER" (Elizabetha Regina).

Marge is half-right about video tapes; blank ones should work just fine in VCRs in the USA. (You'll notice she said nothing about DVDs, which work in DVD players which (a) can convert UK signals (PAL, 25 frames/second) to USA (NTSC, 30 frames/second - note most DVD-ROM drives in computers have software capable of doing this) and (b) can get around the "region encoding" (UK is in "region 2" while USA is in "region 1" ("Woo-Hoo! Region 1! Region 1!")), which is possible in players with "hidden menus" or by loading different firmware. The reason they don't tell you about this: they don't want you to buy DVDs of TV series that are available in Europe years before they are in the USA (so you can watch the reruns in syndication), "The Simpsons" being a rare exception - "Futurama" releases in the USA are a year or so behind Europe.)

There is no death penalty in the UK, and they're not going to invent one just for the Queen.

In fact, the last chapter of the seventh "Harry Potter" book is supposedly locked away somewhere, presumably so that when it is published, nobody can claim that J.K. Rowling stole the idea from somebody who told it to her. (Besides, it's obvious what happens; Ron and Hermoine end up "paired up", as are Harry and Ron's sister; they rename Slytherin House as "Harry Potter House" as whatever happens in the last book shows that there isn't any need for Slytherins; Hagrid gets a new job personally guarding the Malfoys and pretty much everybody who was friends with them in Azkaban.)

But I'm not sure the Falkland Islands are in the same category as the rest. Canada and the others share the Queen, but are independent. I thought the Falkland Islands were a territory of the UK. After all, when Argentina invaded, the only army there was was that of the UK.
