Small, but slowly growing Simpsons site...input requested..

Hi! I'm slowly but surely building up my new Simpsons site. I've made a lot of changes, and added some new stuff. I would appreciate any feedback/input you have to offer on it! Thanks! Nate

It's ok, but face it, there are a lot of simpson sites, so you have a big challenge ahead of you, good luck!

It's not bad, but it needs some work. Firstly, the background colour is awful. What were you thinking? Black?? Anyways, secondly, the fonts are a bit screwed up, try to keep the same font for the whole page. I suggest a nice Verdana or similar. Thirdly, you need to order the page out a bit more - there's stuff everywhere!

Thanks for the feedback. Not too harsh, I asked for input, thanks for being honest. The background is actually a Simpsons logo, I think maybe there is so much stuff on the page it's hard to tell. I think I'll work on making sub-pages for different things to help take out some of the cluttered look, and I'll check up on the fonts, etc. Like I mentioned, it's a work in progress. Thanks again! OK, I wasn't going to reply here, but I finally decided that I'd like to help you out by giving my thoughts after all. I'm not trying to imply that you need them, or that they'll help, but that I'll do what you asked and give you some feedback. And I saw all of your other sites, so this is a general comment regarding all of them...

Just so we're clear, this should all be placed after the line "In my opinion...":

1. It's too confusing. The background is always a great image, but not 50 times on one page. Make it a smaller one or none at all in order to let the eyes read the info. I like all of the information, but it's hard to read everything.

2. It's too cluttered. Each time you have a header there should be a new page off of the main one. This makes everything cleaner and easier to follow in my opinion.

3. It's too random. The tables you're using aren't equally spread out, it's jumpy that way. I, personally, like good hard definitive borders. Not like a < border="1" > thing, but the background separates the information for you. Make a common table width, make it two or three columns instead of the 20 or so you've got.

4. It's not consistent. From site to site yes, but within the site it's not. Pick a font and run with it. As someone else said, verdana size=2 is usually a great pick. It's clean, tidy, and legible. Also, go with one text color, one link color and one background color. This can be done using the body tag or a basefont tag in HTML.

5. Name the home pages index.html. This way you can just type http://www.geocities.com/natesimpsons/ or http://www.geocities.com/natesoimusic/ or whatever. It also keeps things in order if you decide to do subpages later.

OK, that's enough of me bitching. Overall, it's a cool site. Lots of info and lots of pictures, I like that. It's just a little confusing to the eyes, that's all. Content looks good, nothing wrong there, but the HTML presentation looks, well, bad.
