She Of Little Faith... Grandma???

Marge tells Bart to take a picture for Grandma. Grandma? Never heard of her before. And would she be on Homer's or Marge's side of the Family?

Grandma has been on the show before, and yes she would be Marge's mother. (though technically Homer's mother is now a character as well).

There are grandma's on both sides of the family. Marge's mother has been in sveral episodes (though not in ages), in particular the one where she dates Grampa Simpson. Homer's mother (voiced by Glenn Close) has been in one episode, but at the end of that episode there isn't any indication that we'll see her again. So the reference was most likely to Marge's mom, who lives in Springfield.

Marge's mother has appeared several times which is probably who she was talking about because I don't think they are really in touch with Homer's mother.

Both grandmas are still alive. Mrs. Bouvier was in "Lady Bouvier's Lover" (1F21). Mrs. Simpson was in "D'oh-in' in the Wind" (AABF02). It's probably Mrs. Bouvier, since Mrs. Simpson is on the run from the long, flabby arm of the law.

Mrs. Bouvier was also in the Halloween episode where her husband is eaten by King Homer.
