It was good for a few seconds but it just dragged on for WAY too long. It was like the writers were trying to push their political beliefs down our throats as opposed to making us laugh.

The reporters can put a left slant on a story, but the story wasn't pick by them and often the content of the story is rooted in conservative values. Point is a left slant on the needs of business is still rooted in a conservative value system, while a left slant on the need of worker's right would be very leftist and that is nowhere found in the current mainstream media. Yet you do a right slants regarding business. Yet some how people think the media is bias to the left?!?!?

The joke was apart of the news ticker most news networks have. How can you say it went on too long? It is a news ticker. It couldn't have just stopped after a few comments. Those tickers are running all the way through the broadcast. It would not have been so funny if it was short. It had to run the entire time the news broadcast was being shown. It was all part of the joke. It was a kind of joke that I find the funniest on The Simpson's: Sublte, yet hilarious.
Also, since Fox News Channel is very conservative, it was even funnier. I don't think it was the writers pushing their political beliefs. The Simpson's have always made fun of both liberals and conservatives. This joke just happened to make fun of conservatives and Fox News Channel. And in a very amusing way, I must add.

What I meant by the joke being subtle is that it wasn't a joke that hit you over the head or drew attention to itself, like a sight gag. Although it was easily seen, it wasn't drawing attention to itself. There was dialogue going on while the ticker was going past. I am sure there are some people who were not even paying attention to it. They were listening for a joke or waiting until an action took place. That is how many people expect to find jokes. Since we are Simpson's fans, we are looking for things in the picture that is not the main focus. I don't think the ticker was the main focus, although it could be easily seen. I stand by my joke observation as it being "subtle". Maybe I should have said "subtle in it's execution, but hilarious".
