Maybe the 1960 one was based on the 50s TV series (shown in "Three Men and a Comic Book"). You can tell it's a TV serial because of the cigarette ads.

Except that at the time it wasn't considered a kid's show, as the website makes clear. (Much like The Simpsons today.)

I have that ad on the Flintstones laserdisc set, and it's pretty funny (actually it's funnier than most of the shows were). My favorite lines are, "I hate to see the women work so hard." "yeah, let's go 'round back where we can't see them."

That website claimed "...do note that extra measure of indoctrination, as Wilma and Betty perform their duties as quintessential suburban housewives, whilst Fred and Barney rest on their caveman butts, as it were."

Uh, but that was presented as a joke. Fred and Barney were portrayed as bad husbands and were confronted by their wives, who wish to smoke, too. See, it isn't sexist because they got their cigs just like the men.

You can add information to any entry in the IMDB. Someone should make up a fake story about how the movie was being filmed, and they ran out of money and had to cancel the movie. Just like in the cartoon. Another story about how they recruited local people to play major speaking roles would be funny, too.
