I don't remember the name of the episode when Skinner and Crabapple fall in love and start all the commotion (although it would probably be really easy for me to check; i'm just too damn lazy) but I caught that episode last night and i have to say, it was really funny. I never realized it before, but it's a rare episode that combines classic simpson humor and still keeps the characters intact. every character was just as it should be - there was no jerkass homer, or space case marge - everything was perfect. some of my favorite quotes from this episode:
Homer: Bart's teacher's name is Crabapple?? I've been calling her Crandall!! Oh, I've been making an idiot of myself.
and then when bart was on the roof with the teachers and Homer takes the bullhorn and says to bart
Homer: Bart! Do-you-know-where-the-remote-is? Bart: Did you check your pocket? (checks pocket, turns to marge beside him) Homer: I found (turns off bullhorn) it.
and then I loved when Skinner asks to take it up with the townspeople, and chalmers says something like:
Chalmers: Yeah, that'll be real productive. Who do you want to talk to first? The guy in the bee suit, or the guy with the bone is his hair?
and then in the beginning of the episode where skinner's mom is showing bart her album full of pictures of cakes. that was just great.
it makes me sad when i think of how badly they ruining skinner's character and insulted the show with that principal and the pauper episode.
anyway, i just thought i'd share (especially so since i'm avoiding my hw)
