What year is it in the simpsons?.

For most of the time it appears to be 1987.

Well Maggie,Lisa and Bart are always the same age. Marge and Homer had seemed to be much older in the Tracey Ullman Shorts. In 1990(7G01) Marge refered to herself as being 34. This would seem to match up with 'Class of 74'. In April 2000(BABF16) homer had prefered to himself as six months away from 42.

So on this in 2003 , Homer is 44, Marge is 47. However the children appear to be static in time their ages can only be as they were with the first Tracey Ullman Shorts, 1987.

Right now it's the early 21st century, Homer said he was going as Jar JAr BInks for Haloween, Bart has a dream w/ Pikachu in it, Britney Spears voiced herself, J Lo and P. Diddy mentioned, He became P. Diddy in early 2001

I dunno, the whole "maybe he's lost" thing was pretty funny. One of my favs.

Homer doing other people's voices is usually funny though.

I like to watch them in 1955, though the b&w television of this period diminishes the experience a bit. I'd like to try watching the show in a pre-television era just to see what it's like. I've heard it's something of a mystical experience.
