The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror 13
Global always adds "on Global" to the show they air. It's really stupid, but we have no choice to watch it because they cut the Fox signal so we can't watch it on Fox.
Normally, The Simpsons put the number of their Halloween shows in roman numerals, but tonight it said "13", not "XIII". To me, that's a little weird. Is it a Global thing, or was it like that on Fox too?
Hey, you're right...that's another first! (Except for 7F04, which of course didn't have either.) So they went from saying "The Simpsons Halloween Special [roman numeral]" to (well, it also said The Simpsons) "Treehouse of Horror [arabic]"...hmm. Actually, it just occured to me: they might have done it so people recognized the "13" right away (as it's a somewhat superstition-inducing number), rather than having to say "x...i...i...i. that's 13, right? oh, i get it!"

well, sure, but I'd imagine that for some people, they might not think to figure out what the number is, and thus might miss it. usually i'm against the dumbening-down (wait, that's not how you spell dumbening...) of Simpons jokes, but I think here it would be justified.

I'm glad it wasn't Global. They're a terrible network. It would not have surprised me to see them make such a change just to fit in their "on Global" message.
The worst is at the beginning of Boston Public they have "on Global" on the freakin' school bus!

If you are watching via cable (I have no idea if this applies when watching via a legal Canadian satellite service), and a US show is being simultaneously broadcast by a Canadian station, then the Canadian station will replace the US station on the cable system.
If you are watching by antenna, of course you have a choice of watching a US or Canadian station for any given program, so long as you are in range. And since most of our population is close to the US border, many people can get US stations to some extent.
Here in Montreal, most of the time the FOX station comes in nice and clear. So yes, I have the option of watching of watching the Simpsons and various other shows on either station.
