Well I suppose that's technically true, but there are plenty of people cited on Google who use 'White Out' and 'Liquid Paper' interchangeably (http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mwhiteout.html) . Who still says 'ball point pen' these days? - they're always Biros, even though they're not.
