Here are my favorites... there are more but it's hard to recall all the ones in the many, many episodes.

  • Homer falls down Springfield Gorge ("Bart the Daredevil")
  • The fire safety scene (The Bart's ritalin episode)
  • The flying pig scene ("Lisa the Vegetarian")
  • Frank Grime's breakdown & death (Frank Grimes episode)
  • The Soviet Bit (Homer joins the navy episode)

I would like to add: 1- groundskeeper Willie:"I told you Skinner, that colored chalk was spawned from lucifer himself!!". 2- Mr Burns:"Smithers, get drunk and stumble about for my amusement". Actually, anything Mr Burns says is funny. 3- Ralph Wiggum:"Miss Hoover, my worm crawled in my mouth and then I ate it, can I have another?" 4- When Homer's gun goes off and hits a knife which then spears into a picture of Marge, and Lisa says "You have to admit mom, that was pretty cool". 5- When the Comic Book Store Guy sees a missile headed straight at him and says "Oh, I've wasted my life". 6- Smithers in the confession booth says "well, I tried to march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade" 7- Marge:"Girls Lisa! boys kiss girls!" 8- Wolfcastle: "On closer inspection these are loafers" 9- The english kid in the movie the "Bloodening" " Now you're thinking, `I hope thats shepards pie in my knickers" 10- Lisa: "why does the worm talk like a lamb?"

It was symbolism! He was mad!

I would like to add to my own list:

5. In "Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy," the big government conspiracy scene. ("Mr. Vice President! Someone finally bought a copy of your book, sir!")

4. In "Blood Feud," Homer sleeps on it, dreaming of wringing Mr. Burns by the neck until pancakes and honey come along to occupy his time.

  • In "Team Homer," Chalmers gets his: "Ow. Ow. Ow! Ow. Skinner!"

2. In "Lisa on Ice," Bart and Lisa attack the air, and accidentally come into contact with each other. Homer, meanwhile, begins biting the air, in hopes of accidentally coming into contact with Marge's freshly baked pie. But that's not all he comes into contact with.

  • In "Krusty Gets Kancelled," the Worker and Parasite bit.

~~ Though it does not rank among my top five funniest scenes, I would like to add Bart's best prank ever: Narrowing all the parking spaces at Springfield Elementary by one foot.

Still my favorite episode. Submitted for your consideration...

Homer: "Don't you know the story of Hercules and the Lion?" Bart: "Is it a Bible story?" Homer: "Yeah, probably. Anyway, once there was this lion, who had a thorn in its paw. And, all the villagers tried to pull it out, but none of theme was strong enough. So, they called Hercules. And, Hercules used his mighty strength, and BINGO! The Lion was so impressed, he gave Hercules this big... thing... of riches." Bart: "How did the lion get rich?" Homer: "It was the OLDEN days." Bart: "Oh."

Dr Music P.S. Parking was ample.

Here's a short version of my list...

1) Homer see the "alien" (Mr. Burns), and runs off yelling Yahh!, and spelling Yahh! in the grass as he runs. He even jumps, lands, and grunts when making the dot of the exclamation mark.

2) Homer opening the "neopolitan" ice cream (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry), saying "hmmmm, chocolate", only to find all the chocolate missing, but the other two flavors in tact. He opens another to find the same, and yell to Marge "we need more Vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream!"

But my favorite scene, actually favorite line....

Homer the inventor, tells Marge he quit his job. Marge says "oh well, I'm sure you can get your job back again", to which Homer replies.. "Not the way I quit!"

funniest line ever.

That quote bugs me...cuz it's actually a 5 day weekend. He's having the conversation on Thursday, because he skipped that day. Then Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, make it 5 days total. Anyway, I'm being picky...

You mean this: Ned: Well, if God didn't make little green apples, it's Homer Simpson! How long have you been here? Homer: Twenty of the suckiest minutes of my life. Ned: Ho ho ho, suckin' down the cider, uh? Hey, word to the wise -- [shows Homer a card] season pass! It pays for itself after the sixteenth visit. You know, most people don't know the difference between apple cider and apple juice, but I do. Now here's a little trick to help you remember. If it's clear and yella', you've got juice there, fella! If it's tangy and brown, you're in cider town. Now, there's two exceptions and it gets kinda tricky here... [Homer's brain gets bored] Brain: [moans] You can stay, but I'm leaving. [brain floats away; Homer is now staring blankly] Ned: ... can be yellow, if they're using late season apples. And, of course, in Canada, the whole thing's flip-flopped. [Homer collapses] Ned: Oh, my! I'd better get you some cider. --- I like how Homer hated going to the cider mill even more because he was missing the seventh game of the world series. My personal favorites would probably be (with possibility of forgetting some):
     5) The "Yogi & Boo-boo" opening
     4) Most any of the exchanges between Homer and Mr. Burns at the teamwork
retreat. "You sure do know how to cheat Mr. Burns." "Well, I'm older than
you!"
     3) The cut from Milhouse winking at Nelson to Milhouse being wheeled into
the ambulance.
     2) Frank Grimes' frenzy
     1) Mr. Burns laughing forever "What was I laughing at again, Smithers? Oh
yes, that crippled Irishman."

Till Then=) Jeff Warden "If I wanted smoke blown up my ass, I'd be at home with a pack of cigarettes, and a short length of hose." --The Simpsons

On a related note they showed the one here last night where Homer goes back to high school (lisa and bart write an itchy and scratchy script using Granpa's name, if that helps remember what episode it is because I don't know the name and don't want to look it up)

Anyway, the teacher is handing out a test and he says: "This is your test, it's 15 questions true or false." Homer: "True" Teacher: "No, Homer I was just explaining the test" Homer: "True" Teacher: "Homer, just take the test and you'll do fine" Homer: "False"

Not exact quotes of course, but it's the gist.

these are just the tip of the iceberg. all dialogue is not word for word, but you'll get the point.

1)When homer and moe et.al start the pin pals bowling league. The scene when moe says something to the effect,"I'm tired of getting treated like dirt...well....not that fancy store bought dirt, it is loaded with nutrients and minerals"

2)the mary bobbins episode. at the very end when she flies away and barney shows up out of no where and says "BYE SUPERMAN".

3)the scene when homer makes the fake dummy of himself and it falls down the waterfall and lenny and carl narrate the contradictory series of events.

4)the scene where mr. burns is looking for someone to play the role of him in his move....homer comes out with the intention of doing mr. burns trademark "exc-ellent" and instead he says "ex-act-ly" followed by a prompt...DOH!

5)the scene where moe arranges homer to steal his car. they are at the police party on the ship and moe, nonchalantly (says something to the effect of) to chief wiggum,"hey, look at my parking job over there" and the chief says, what the one with the big rubber daisy? and then he says, with excitement...hey yeah that is a great park job...then he looks up at lou(another cop) and says hey lou look at the park job in space _____? and lou replies with all sincerity....yeah, that's sweet.

6)the episode where homer had the pet lobster and he was taking it for a walk on the beach and it cowers from a hermit crab. then homer says to his lobster, "you don't have to take that from that punk ass crab!"

7)the scene where groundskeeper willie rips off his shirt and tells lunch lady doris.."grease me up woman!"

8) the episode when homer gets the sexual harassment charge after he grabs the gummy venus off some babysitters butt. Then when they show his interview on tv it is all hacked up to portray that he was guilty...... notice the clock in the background....

9)the scene with john waters where john waters tells bart and lisa that in japan they call santa claus,"the annual gift man, who lives on the moon".

10) the episode where marge tells homer not to cuss and he makes a swear jar. homer is making a doghouse, he impales his foot on a nail sticking from a board...he cringes and says(struggling to refrain from cursing) "Oh diddly dee.....that will require a tetanus shot".

that is enough. these are NOT my top 10 just the first 10 that popped in my mind. i could go on forever.

Mike
