"MacHomer": Anyone seen it?

I understand the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival in Madison is hosting two performances of a one-man show called "MacHomer" on Oct. 5. The guy is from Montreal and has created a version of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" with "Simpsons" characters (Homer as Macbeth, Marge as Lady Macbeth, etc.) and uses more than 50 voices throughout the performance. Much of Shakespeare's script is used, but there are also a number of pop culture references sprinkled throughout. Sounds like an interesting concept (and you thought the only Shakespeare tie-in to the show was the fried chicken restaurant!). Wonder what Matt Groening thinks of this. Has anyone here seen it?

Now Fox can finally fire all the voice artists on the show and hire this guy to do them all for one price!

I saw it last year at the University of Maryland (he's coming again in Jan). It's definitely worth going too. Rick Miller can do just about every voice, and does them well. Besides, the few voices he doesn't do well are kept to small parts.

But overall, it's fun. And he uses nice illustrations of Simpsons characters on a giant wall/screen behind him so it's easier to follow along/visualize what's going on (in case you have no idea what MacBeth is about). Plus, you're surrounded by Simpsons fans, and there's always Simpsons books and stuff for sale there.

Rick Miller came out for the Melbourne (Australia) Comedy Festival last year and i caught MacHomer. It was great! Pretty incredible as he not only has to commit all of MacBeth to memory but does them in varying characters..

I think he mentioned something about working on some new shows.. OthellD'oh and mmmmmmm HAMlet :D

I should mention that my girlfriend (who also likes "The Simpsons" but not as much as I do) felt that the show was a little long and found her interest wavering towards the end.

Now if somebody would just do MacShatner...

This is a show not to be missed if you are a die hard simpsons fan AND have a memory of the main points about MacBeth - may be worth grabbing a quick scan through a cliff notes or paper back copy - the performer does really try to cover all of the main points of MacBeth and his choice of which characters to use is very clever.
