If you've ever thought about reading a simpsons script, this one features 3 of the Seinfeld cast members, both as themselves and as their characters. It's a spoof of the classic "The Opposite" episode, with Homer taking the same advice George took from Jerry.
Why isn't there a disclaimer on this post reading: "Warning: the following contains some of the worst tripe you will ever read from a person who thinks he is funnier and more intelligent then even the worst Simpsons writers"?
That has to be a real, bad joke!

You sir have an uncanny knack for capturing the true spirit of Krusty the clown. Up until I read your sig at the bottom of your post, I actually thought it was Krusty. But alas, it's only his flunky Sideshow Bob...as jealous and mean spirited as always.
Also, your mind reading skills need to be sharpened a bit. I certainly do not see myself as being more intelligent or funnier than even the worst simpsons writers. On the contrary, if the writers were as BAD as I am, I never would have watched one episode of this series. As it stands, I watch this wonderful show each and every week and admire the work that has gone into developing all these characters.
As for the script itself...get in line Bob, those a whole lotta people who've voiced their disapproval at this "Tripe". Although, most everyone else got a little more specific and actually gave a few "well intentioned" pointers, to which I am very grateful. This was my first script and I've since followed it up with another, movie length script. In the coming months I plan on finishing two more ideas and posting the links to them on this site as well as a couple others that I frequent. I'll always use my true first name by itself, so you can avoid my future posts if you like. However, if you have any constructive critisism to share, I would appreciate reading it.
Thanks Bob,
Dana
PS: I'm still grinning at your opening..."WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" Have you written anything? I'd love to read it if you have...capturing the true essence of the characters is the main thing to telling a good story and your post showed a ton of it.....and no, I'm not being sarcastic.

....and, as intelligent! You have an uncanny knack of missing important information.

Judging by you defensive post, you are not ready for any criticism.
Be that as it may....
Ever watch "American Idol"? The fascination for most people is that the average wannabe has no clue as to his or her mediocrity.
I happen to be the funniest man in my organization. (I may be the funniest man in this NG, but, hey! That's just one brilliant man's observation). But, I am also smart enough to understand that I would NOT be funny by professional standards.
I use that wav. as an error message.
I found it appropriate.

I've written one (published) foreword for a book on art, an article (on art) for a local paper, scores of commentaries, etc. for my art organization's newsletter, and speeches to budgetary committees. Alas, they all deal with art subjects, and even the "short stories" may be too inside for the general public.
OK, exactly what golden nugget of "Important Information" did I miss? Let's see..."What the hell was that?"...WARNING...worst TRIPE..thinks he's funnier...more intelligent...worst simpsons writers...real bad joke...
Well, I'm sorry, but after reading your original post again, the important information still escapes me. Or, is the important information regarding you and your staure as a mind reader. I must say, to be able to know what a person is thinking AND grasp his intelligence in just one small posting in reference to a posted fanscript...WoW!
I'm more than ready for some specific critism of the script full of tripe...are you ready to provide some or do you just use your superior writing skills for your own work and toss a wet blanket statement on everyone else?
Unless you are going to point to at least one part of the script, like "In that backyard scene in act two, you had Homer say "I'm not hungry Marge", WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? If you can be specific like that, great. That's what every writer should hope for. But if all you have is your take on me as a horn tooting, god's gift to sitcom writing, egomaniac, blowhole...open your eyes and see how your judging me and probably a lot of others...it makes you LOOK like an idiot...or a jerk...or both. But it's probably a little off...you probably just need some practice in writing critism...without specifics, it's just bad writing. Like a story with no plot, it goes nowhere. Go back and read your original post and you tell me...WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?
Forget your high intelligence? I don't think so...I looked high and didn't see anything. I guess I'll have to look a lot higher...are you sure it's there or are you just trying to bust my balls and make me look for nothing?
Rehashing. Thank you, that's something I can appreciate, even from you. I had those same feelings during the second draft, but I felt it showed the rehashing in a slightly different light. But, I will admit, your point is valid.
How about the first act? I certainly didn't steal any of that from any other script. Most people found the first act the funniest part.
With regards to your published work, did you do that on your first try?
I had a short story published once. It was in a sports magazine...but that's not art, so it can't be considered true writing...any nimrod can write for sports magazines.
I'm curious, that forward you had published for art...did it describe the turtle or the pirate? The hard part must have been getting all that information on a match book cover.
Sarcasm switch is now off...
Good luck in your efforts to write a novel. If nothing else, your posts have set a fire under my arse to write even more...and I'll be sure to post them when I'm done, marked : ATTENTION BOB!!!! HERE'S MY NEW SCRIPT!!!!
Thanks for the unintentional laughs, I've actually enjoyed your posts.
This is a prime example of how little creativity you possess. But, at least it's more creative than what I expected.

The only people who could possibly be interested by it would be Max Bialystock and Leo Blum.
Some people find Carrot-top and Pauly Shore(spelling?) funny.
Yes, but is was on a subject with which I was well-acquainted. And, it was not a short story, script or novel. These are much harder to write that forewords or treatises.
