I was wondering if those stations who run the Simpsons in syndication will ever run the Homer Vs. NY episode ever again. A good portion of it takes place at the WTC. I know it's stupid to wonder about this, but I'm in shock and I tend to get stupid when that happens.

Sideshow Bob's last Gleaming (if you're referring to the nuke at the air show) was showing on my local WB station at 5:00pm CST on the day of infamy, 911. D'OH!!!

I hope they do still show the Homer vs NYC episode, I think it's one of the better ones of that season even though it's a "novelty" episode
On WNDS in Derry, NH (home of one of the passengers on one of the planes, BTW), they just showed THOH IX, which ends with Kang and Kodos going off to destroy all of our leaders in Washington.
When Clinton was president, they still showed the episode where Bush Sr. says, "This will keep my bosses happy", all 535 of them, or did he say 250? Oh well, they still show it.
Also, in the the Halloween segment "The Devil and Homer Simpson", Richard Nixon was selected as part of the jury, Nixon said he wasn't dead yet which was true at the time. This is also shown around every Halloween.
Of course, since National Syndication doesn't exist anymore, showing this episode would be up to the stations that show the Simpsons on weekdays, WNYW in New York might be an example of one that won't, since their viewers are close to the tragedy. I do believe in a sense that it could pop up on occasion on other stations, but not as a regular episode.
Of course, now as I think about it, don't expect New York to be in any future episodes. Perhaps that way there is no miscontinution with the NYC episode.
