Why does she always correct others when they are wrong?

And why do they say in some eps that she has no friends yet in other eps we see her playing with Janey?

The second is more or less a continuity error, or at least a case of her having a rather on/off friendship with Janey. The first is I suppose just a trait of hers, but its definitely been emphasized in recent seasons, probably as an excuse to "explain" jokes that the writers are afraid aren't obvious enough.

yeah, I agree. What particularly kills me as well is that they often explain the most obvious stuff, as if its not already obvious. Here's an example of a joke that I almost liked despite the slapsticky-ness of it, but ended up having it ruined. Its from the otherwise horrible Homer the Moe...

(while hunting, a bird lands on Moe's face and starts pecking at it) Moe: ow! ow! not the face! (bird moves to his, ahem, genitalia, and pecks some more) Moe: Okay, the face. (bird goes back to face) Boy, that's a lot better after the crotch.

Do the writers think we don't know what the bird was pecking at? Do we really need to have it explained? Its obvious enough, and its only funny in a slapstick way to begin with.
