US release dates:

Season 1: Sept. 25, 2001 Season 2: August 6, 2002 Season 3: August 26, 2003 Season 4: June 15, 2004

It is nice that they released the lastest one in June instead of August, but my instincts tell me that FOX isn't going to deviate any time soon from the one-a-year pattern they've established. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

amazon.com already's got a link to the season 5 dvd but with no release date. Could that be an indication of some good news?

Not in particular. They do that for a lot of things without a release date.

Mine too, although I have more optimism than before since Al Jean wasn't involved with the fifth season.
