Notes for MABF21 (Elementary School Musical)

Oof, really long weekend for me and I'm wiped. This had the feeling of a star-studded gimmick episode with little focus on the regular characters, but eh, the Lisa story was still nice. It also doesn't help that I don't know Glee or Flight of the Conchords (yet - I've been meaning to watch both). Of other note: nice that Largo was a little sympathetic to Lisa; boo old clips being in widescreen. I like Maggie hearing "Bronte sisters" as "brontosaurus" (it reminds me of a similar instance that isn't coming to mind at the moment), and also the DVD regions bit (though see below).

DYN: ...the DVD Bart holds up looks vaguely purple, like a recordable disc? (If so, it probably wouldn't be region locked anyway.)

Goof HOW IS THE LISA SIGN REFLECTING THE RIGHT WAY AROUND? As if we didn't have time to read it when it wasn't a reflection.

Other note Since about 2 weeks ago, I've noticed that widescreen network content is showing up letterboxed again on my basic cable. This could mean that Time Warner Cable installed the equipment to read the AFD (which describes how to crop or matte content for different aspect ratios), or that for some reason WJW or the Fox network is sending out another signal for the SD cable feeds. I don't really know. Is anyone else getting widescreen the old way again?

My local Fox (in HD) has been impossible to pick up most of the time since the digital conversion, so I watch on either WNYW from New York or KTTV from L.A. Sometime last year WNYW stopped running the shows letterboxed and went to the awful center-cut instead - meanwhile, KTTV kept showing them letterboxed. As of last night, WNYW is back to letterbox again.
