The Great Louse Detective 30 min. He's baaaack! Kelsey Grammer returns as venerable criminal Sideshow Bob, whose deep-rooted hatred for Bart is set aside as he tries to find out who's trying to kill...Homer? Apparently someone is out to get Homer J., who barely escapes after a shadowy figure locks him in a spa steam room. Seeing the need for someone who understands a murderous mind, Chief Wiggum calls on the incarcerated Bob, who moves in with the Simpsons to keep close tabs on the intended target. When Bob asks why someone might want to do Homer harm, he's taken aback by Homer's response: "I'm a people person...who drinks." (VCR Plus+ 1196)

Review: It is almost like "Brother from Another Series" never happened. Bob and bart were some sort of mortal enemies, and Bob was as crazy as ever to kill him until the end. I thought at first when I saw the mechanic that it was Frank Grimes from beyond the grave, but I guess we could not be that lucky. While I guess Grimey's son could have some beef with Homer, it did not really make for some sort of compelling story involving Sideshow Bob in the episode. Either way, while it was a kinda cute episode with a few references, I will give it a C+. Nothing really great, and extremely predictable.

I don't know. At the end of "Brother from Another Series", Bob still went to jail. It is as if he is in a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. Also, later in the episode "Day of the Jackanapes", Bob was back to evil again. He was going to kill Krusty and Bart in one explosion. Being Bob's "boy bomb" would probably make Bart a little bitter.

Just my take on the situation. I thought "The Great Louse Detective" was a great episode. The main story started faster than any other episode I can think of right off the top of my head. Also, the story played out over the entire 3 acts. I thought this episode had everything that the hardcore critics here would love. I actually thought that it may be one of the most praised episodes on this board in years. Oh, well. I guess I was wrong. But I still thought it was great. I actually choked a little while laughing at the end when Homer yelled (paraphrasing)"Turn down that original cast album".
