What have been some great Simpson locations that have been invented for the sake of the story? For instance: Springfield gorge, Mount Springfield, Springfield Salt Flats. Etc. It's one of my favorite Simpson tricks.

That's really what I consider to be one of the main faults of "The Simpsons." I really enjoyed the Powersauce episode, but they just muck around with things too much sometimes. Something like the Murderhorn should exist, or it shouldn't. I don't think it's right to just suddenly add a series of three huge mountains, then forget all about them.
But I guess if you look at the show as more of a sketch comedy, it's bearable.
