Hey their Simpsons fans i just wanted to make a few points on the recent Simpsons episode and the overall look of the season so far. As for this episode i am in agreement with the basic groups opinion it stunk. To begin with the entire hole digging plot could have been done better. What should have happened is the whole thing should have been wrapped up in half the time and Homer should have just gone to moe's. The second problem was how long it took for the plot to get going. It wasnt until the third act that homer even got his own bar. This has been one of the biggest problems the writers are having now they always seem to take two acts to tell a story and then get into the main story in the third act. also when homer broke his hand he shouldnt have bled so much, here's how i would have written the scene (Homer breaks his hand, a little blood comes out and he faints, Barney gets up and runs over to Homer in a rush)Barney: Dont worry Homer i saw ER last week, no rush (Barney walks back to his stool and CUT) But thats just me, as for Swigmore University that had another 5 or 6 minutes of material their but no. The whole plot should have switched around in the second act to Moe changing the bar to everyone's liking except homer. Homer should then have opened up his own bar to a zilch attendance, after that Homer should have his bar shut down by the police after Homer charges Wiggum for a beer. After that Homer should feel bad and return to Moe's near the end to apologize. When Moe gives Homer a beer Homer should tip him and then go out to an outside shot of the bar as Homer relaxes in the new bar stool here would be the dialogue Homer: Wow Moe its just like i am sitting at home Moe: Put your pants back on Homer Homer: Oh nuts THE END To sum it all up what the simpsons writers have to do is get their stories moving forward by the end of the first act and tone down some of the jokes. Homer's wrist splurting out blood would work only on a halloween episode just remember that Al Jean and friends. Oh and before anybody starts ripping me no i dont know how to use spellcheck.
