Ranier Wolfcastle's wife (or lack there of)

IMHO the Simpsons writers missed a good opportunity for a cute throwaway joke (and pop culture reference) when they didn't give Wolfcastle a wife who was a TV news personality and/or had ties to the Quimby family.

They did. In "The Boy Who Knew Too Much", Bart approaches Wolfcastle at Quimby's party, and he has a wife who resembles Maria Shriver.

"Maria, if anyone wants me, I'll be in the Humvee."

I believe they did do this, but she's just not a regular on the show. Perhaps I'm wrong though.
