Where did Comic Book Guy get his name? I have noticed it actually beginning to crop up in the show though I have never heard it anywhere but in this newsgroup. Is it possible that the writers sometimes grab things from this newsgroup for shows? I know I have seen atleast one other thing that appeared in a show after I read abbout something similar in this news group. I am not sure what it was at this point though since I noticed it a while ago.

Hmmm....this newsgroup must be the only place that's ever called him "Comic Book Guy", eh? Awfully creative...
Seriously though, that's a good catch...I'd be interested to hear more. Thought he was at his funniest this episode (especially having someone actually more pathetic than he!)

It has become (for some, atleast) painfully obvious that the writers have at least some insight of the nature of discussions held here at ATS, considering the numerous episodes with references to ATS regulars ("The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show" especially comes to mind). Whether or not people associated with the show are actually lurking here is possible, however unlikely.
Unless I'm missing something obvious, wasn't he originally, "Android's Dungeon Guy"?

I am sure that the writers lurk around and listen to us. I remember when someone asked where springfield was and Lisa replied. "It's easy if you pay attention to the clues." And as we speak about how the show is going down hill, they have a song at the end of a clip show with lyrics that joke about the downturn and even have a picture of homer jumping a shark.
