T topic has probably glazed though this newsgroup more than once, but I am very curious if Homer still works at the Power Plant. It would seem like he doesn't, since he decides on a new profession every week, but he still shows up at the plant every once and again to chat with Lenny and Carl. What's the official word?

Well, my word isn't official in any way, but I think it's pretty obvious that he works there whenever the plot (or an isolated joke) calls for it, and doesn't when the plot calls for him to be away for a long period of time.

I think it's pretty obvious that the writers lost track long ago of what *any* of the characters are supposed to be doing as a family. They've pretty much deconstructed the Simpsons.
